WoM TALK(S) mit Marina Pommier

Unsere Diskussions- und Netzwerkreihe WoM TALK(S) startet diesen Herbst im Second Hand Records. Wir sind voller Vorfreude auf die Reihe, den Austausch mit Euch und dankbar für die Unterstützung seitens verschiedener Institutionen und Personen, die sich mit unseren Themen solidarisch zeigen! Uns ist es ein Anliegen die lokale Vernetzung von WoM um eine für die Musikbranche wichtige, internationale Ebene zu erweitern. Deswegen freut es uns sehr, dass wir für die 3. Ausgabe die französische Kuratorin Marina Pommier gewinnen konnten.

Marina Pommier

ist eine französische Kulturmanagerin und Kuratorin. Als Bookerin ist sie seit 1994 ein aktiver Teil der Weltmusikszene. So kuratiert sie u.a. seit 2002 das Roma und Balkan Programm des Sziget Festivals – Europas größtes Festival für Weltmusik. Für die Weltmusikbühnen des Vidor Festivals ist sie seit 2005 zuständig. Des Weiteren entwickelt sie Konzertreihen in ländlichen Gegenden Frankreichs.

Vor ihrer Tätigkeit als Kuratorin sammelte Marina Pommier wichtige Erfahrungen als Tour- und Produktionsmanagerin. Die überzeugte Europäerin hat bereits in Frankreich, Deutschland, Belgien und Ungarn gelebt und gearbeitet.

French organizer involved in World Music scene since 1994, she is booking various projects and groups around the world.

Programmer since 2002 in Hungary, on the Gipsy stage and then Roma and Balkan program of the World Music Stage of the biggest European Festival, the Sziget Festival, and the free 2 World Music stages of the Vidor Festival in Nyiregyháza since 2005. She is also developing World Music concert series in rural villages in France.

“Born in Lyon in 1972, I attended the International High school. Involved in World Music scene since 1994, I am booking various projects and groups around the world.

Convinced European I have lived in France, Germany, Belgium, and Hungary. I started my carrier as tour manager and production manager for « The Gipsies of Rajasthan » and the festival «  the beautifull Nights of Ramandan » in Brussels and became the manager of Hungarian Gipsy Band Romano Drom for 11 years and later of South Slavic group Söndörgö for 7 years.

From 2001 I started to collaborate with Sziget Agency with whom we organised 3 Hungarian cultural seasons, in France, Italy and the Netherlands.

I program on Sziget festival since 2002 on the Gipsy stage first for 12 years and then Roma and Balkan program of the World Music Stage, and since 2018 I started a new stage around minorities and World Music. At the same time I also book the 2 free 2 World Music stages of the Vidor Festival in Nyiregyháza since 2005. Since 2018 I’m also developing World Music concert series in rural villages in South West of France.”
